Easily one of our favorite projects of all time was creating an animated accompaniment to Bill Carter's beautifully crafted song, written to his friend Damian Echols of the West Memphis Three when he was on death row. Pat Kondelis of Round Mountain Productions had the vision to pair Paper Brain's animation style with Bill Carter's timeless song, and he co-directed this music video with us that led to a tour across the film festival circuit. We'll always be grateful for being able to be a part of this song's legacy.

Bill Carter's "Anything Made of Paper" was written as a present for Damien Echols of the West Memphis Three when he was on death row. Bill and his wife Ruth set out to write a song about love and tragedy. Johnny Depp plays slide guitar on the track, and has played it live alongside Bill on several occasions, including the Voices for Justice Concert and Rally in Little Rock, AR and on The Late Show with David Letterman.
The animated music video is a fictional re-telling of the story that inspired Bill to write the song in the first place, and echoes the hope we all must cling to in the face of injustice. The song was also featured in Peter Jackson's documentary West of Memphis.
