Inspired by the 1970s ‘Schoolhouse Rock’ series, this video presents the use of hydrogen as a source of energy. It is the first of ten animated ‘music videos’ produced by the Wiess Energy Hall at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, each in a different musical and visual style, featuring the science and technology of energy.
The Hydrogen Song has been an Official Selection for the Providence Children’s Film Festival, the Rockport Film Festival, the Montana International Children’s Film Festival, and the San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival. The song was written and performed by Taylor Vortex, and the visuals were produced by PBE Exhibit Design and Consulting and animated by Paper Brain Productions in four unique styles of animation- hand-drawn, 2d paper cut-out, 3d paper stop-motion, and claymation.
Visit the Houston Museum of Natural Science to experience the newly revamped Wiess Energy Hall, and jam out to the animated energy songs while you’re there!
